‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’ Sashays Onto BBC One After Streaming Success

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK premiered on BBC Three in late 2019.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will make its way onto broadcast television with a premiere after seeing huge success on streaming service BBC Three.

According to Digital Spy, the show made the official announcement on Twitter on January 8.

“That’s right, at 23:25 on Fridays you can watch #DragRaceUK on @BBCOne, like it’s the 90s or something,” posted the network.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, produced by World of Wonder, crowned The Vivienne as the winner of season 1 with Divina de Campo as the runner up. It is the second international version of the show following RuPaul’s Drag Race Thailand. New versions are coming to Australia and Canada in 2020, meaning fans have a lot to look forward to this year.

It represents a big move for a show to go from streaming to broadcast, so congratulations are in order for those behind the show. Season 1 was highly entertaining and thankfully, this provides a way for UK viewers to re-watch the show prior to its return later this year.
