This season of The Real Housewives of Cheshire may actually be one of the more authentic entries into the series because former friends Dawn Ward and Leanne Brown are showcasing the demise of their years-long friendship. Their co-star Lauren Simon, however, isn’t here for it and says in a new interview that their drama is “pathetic.”
Lauren has pretty much stayed out of the drama this season and hasn’t really shown much other than her new perfume line and separation from her husband. While she’s not into the drama this year, she does find Dawn and Leanne’s situation troubling. “This series has been very hard with Leanne and Dawn arguing, and I have to admit it’s been sad with all the emotions and money involved,” she tells The Sun. “But I work hard and play hard and try and ignore all the drama queens because it’s pathetic.”
Shows like RHOCheshire are only successful because of the drama and while Lauren understands that, she laughably doesn’t care about it because it doesn’t involve her. “It’s really sad to see all the friendships break up, but at the end of the day they’re not my friendships so I don’t care,” she explains. “I’ve been working hard on my brand and perfume so I don’t have time for all this nonsense that you lot watch, or to argue over nonsense.”
“I try very hard to stay positive and if I do say anything negative it’s because I mean it, but I try and keep out of it,” she continues. “I have two little girls and I want them to look up to me and respect me for when I eventually pass my brand onto them. Maybe I hit forty and grew up!”
Even though she doesn’t bring all that much to the show, Lauren is signed on for the next season — the show was renewed for two seasons just last year — and will be returning. She says, “At this moment in time I’m very happy on the show, so I’ll film the next series which I’m signed up for.”
While we agree that the drama between Dawn and Leanne is ridiculous, it’s the only thing carrying the show this year. Leanne should have known that someone like Dawn would have turned on her but at this point, it’s clear that she is really disappointed in her former friend. It’s kind of troubling to see Lauren be so nonchalant about everything because at the end of the day, she is paid to be in the mix.
