Porsha Williams’ Activism To Be Featured On ‘RHOA’ Season 13

It will mark a clear change in tone for the show, which has usually avoided dealing with tough issues.

Porsha Williams has been actively protesting amid the Black Lives Matter movement and all of her hard work will be featured on RHOA Season 13, according to production insiders.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta are currently busy filming the upcoming season and according to TMZ, Porsha’s storyline will include her activism and recent arrests.

“Producers want to shine a light on Porsha’s fight for social justice as much as possible,” the gossip outlet reported exclusively. “Bravo knows viewers would be riveted by Porsha’s commitment to racial justice.”

Porsha Williams’ activism is going to be featured on RHOA Season 13, according to production insiders.

TMZ points out that Porsha has been arrested a few times in recent months, including in July at a Breonna Taylor protest in Kentucky and again just Wednesday (August 6). Felony charges from the first incident have been dropped.

While there was no camera crew on the ground due to precautions the network is taking around the coronavirus pandemic, the insiders revealed that iPhone footage is expected to be included when RHOA Season 13 returns next year.

Change in tone

Spotlighting what is actually happening in the world is certainly going to be a bit of a change for the reality franchise, but it follows a recent change in behaviour from Bravo and NBCUniversal.

After years of remaining silent, the network has actively been trying to make better decisions in recent months. For example, the network fired four cast members from Vanderpump Rules over past racist behaviour, edited out a cast member out of Below Deck Mediterranean’s current season over a racist social media post, and has even promised to address racial issues on the new season of The Real Housewives of Dallas that have followed the cast in recent years.

In addition to focusing on more timely and important storylines, like what Porsha has been doing, Bravo and Truly Original, the production company behind the show, are also going to be featuring new cast members.

Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Marlo Hampton, and Tanya Sam are all returning for the new season, while Kandi’s friend LaToya Ali is joining in a part-time role. Actress Drew Sidora has reportedly secured a peach and will be featured full-time.

What Porsha Williams is doing is admirable, to say the least, and to hear that Bravo is going to feature it on the show next year is a really welcome decision that should be applauded by fans of the network.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta will return to Bravo next year.
