Netflix has officially ordered a new Selling Sunset spinoff called Selling The OC.
The new series, which is expected to debut on the streaming service in 2022, will star Jason Oppenheim, one of the two twin brothers who owns the real estate firm featured on the original series, and follows Oppenheim as he sets up a new team in Orange County.
According to Variety, a few new cast members have already signed on the dotted line. Alexandra Hall, Austin Victoria and Brandi Marshall will appear as full-time cast members, among other agents.
However, Heather Rae El Moussa (formerly Heather Rae Young, before her recent wedding to HGTV star Tarek El Moussa), will not be appearing on the new series despite rumours to the contrary. As the Variety report points out, El Moussa is actually featured on the agents page of The Oppenheim Group Newport Beach but will be sticking with the OG franchise for reality TV purposes.
Jason is currently dating Selling Sunset breakout star Chrishell Stause, but there is apparently no word on whether she will make any appearances on Netflix’s Selling The OC. The report states that filming on the new spinoff has just started, so things are still developing.
This isn’t the first Selling Sunset spinoff in the works but it may be the most well-known. Adam DiVello, who is responsible for the franchise and previously launched The Hills for MTV, is also working on Selling Tampa, which is set to focus on an agency run entirely by Black women and is also set to debut on Netflix sometime in 2022.
The original Selling Sunset returns with Season 4 on November 24th and trust us, it’s a doozy.
