The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was asked about her former boss at the Urban One Honors and made the right call by trying to change the topic of conversation to something else.
When Nene was asked what she learned about business from Trump, she didn’t seem pleased, according to a report from PJ Media. “No, I didn’t learn anything from that show. No, they taught us how to raise money and I know how to raise money,” she said. “And as far as the business goes, no, he [Trump] didn’t teach me that, unfortunately, but I do like him.”
As reality fans will remember, Trump starred on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice from 2008-2015 and formed a pretty entertaining relationship with the RHOA star when she appeared on season 11 in 2011.
Nene’s strategy differs from another Real Housewife, however. Kelly Dodd from The Real Housewives of Orange County recently caught flack from fans of the franchise after she posted a photo of herself and Donald Trump Jr. to social media.
This is a smart move for Nene. She isn’t exactly having the best season on RHOA — she almost got into a physical altercation with Kenya Moore on last night’s episode — and showing support to Trump isn’t always viewed favourably in entertainment.
The Urban One Honors recognizes black leaders in entertainment and will air on TV One on January 20.
