MTV Reboots ‘Cribs’ With U.K. And U.S. Editions

Caitlyn Jenner, Christine Quinn, and Gemma Collins are just some of the celebrities set to appear.

Remember the MTV reality show Cribs? According to trade publication Variety, the celebrity real estate show is being rebooted by MTV International with both U.K. and U.S. versions on the way.

MTV Cribs, which is produced by Viacom International Studios U.K. and executive produced by Kate Amarnani of Viacom International Studios U.K., and Craig Orr and Rebecca Hewett of MTV International, has been given an 8-episode, 30-minute order and will return later this year following recent specials in the region.

As reported by the outlet, MTV Cribs was first started in the U.S. back in 2005 and received a U.K.-based reboot back in 2019. In addition, MTV Cribs: Footballer Stay Home—which was produced during lockdown—premiered earlier this summer, so it is not surprising they have decided to reboot the series again.

“As we spend more time at home this year, our fascination with where and how others live is growing,” Craig Orr said in a statement, the vice president of original content and development for youth and entertainment, ViacomCBS International.

He continued, “MTV Cribs continues to connect our worldwide audiences with their favorite stars as they welcome us into their homes for an exclusive tour. This is pure property porn escapism at its most fabulous.”

Who will appear on the U.K. MTV Cribs reboot?

Selling Sunset’s Christine Quinn is set to appear in the U.K.-based reboot of MTV Cribs. A U.S.-based version will premiere on MTV in 2021.

In a statement, Christine shared her excitement about joining the show seeing as real estate is one of her passions. “What a dream to be included in this iconic classic,” she said in an official statement. “As a top selling broker I’m always spotlighting other people’s homes to the world, but now MTV International is giving you an exclusive look inside my newly redone home — and let’s get one thing clear — in my house, it’s my rules.”

“Expect the unexpected,” she added.

MTV Cribs will premiere on MTV International on Monday, October 26 at 8pm BST. The stateside version is set to debut in 2021.
