Monique Samuels Says She Didn’t Apologize To Candiace Dillard After Being Threatened With Legal Action

Candiace and her legal team pretty much gave Monique no choice but to avoid her.

Monique Samuels’ non-apology to Candiace Dillard was a hot topic on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac and now, Monique is explaining why she didn’t reach out to her co-star after their physical altercation.

On last night’s episode, some of the Housewives—including Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon, and Wendy Osefo—expressed their disappointment in the fact that Monique had not yet apologized to Candiace, and instead of confronting Monique directly, they seemed to take those feelings out on her friend Karen Huger.

Well, Monique has had enough of the greek chorus and took to social media following the episode to clap back and explain just why she chose not to reach out to Candiace, revealing that her former friend threatened her with legal action almost immediately following the incident.

Monique Samuels took to Twitter after last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac to explain why she apologize to Candiace Dillard following their physical altercation.

“After I had the meeting with my pastor, I received this email,” posted Monique, attaching multiple receipts screenshots to the post. “My attorney advised that I only speak to Candiace with him present. We asked several times for a mediation sit down and she and her attorney REFUSED. She didn’t want to hear an apology. She wanted money.”

Attached to the tweet was a letter from Candiace’s legal team, where they mention that if they do not hear back from Monique, they will move forward with “civil action in court as well as file a complaint.” The email was sent days following the incident, with October 23, 2019 clearly legible in the top right corner.

Monique goes on to say that Candiace was clearly after her for money, choosing to file criminal charges once she didn’t hear back from her or get the supposed apology that she was looking for.

“When my attorney said no we’re not paying her anything because this was not an ‘attack’ or an ‘assault’ but a ‘mutually consented’ altercation (a warning to back up was given followed by her egging on by saying ‘what you gon do? You gon drag me?’), her attorney’s response was…”

“‘Well we’re going to sue Monique for MILLIONS and Bravo will capture it all!’ Then they filed the complaint. Then I countered.” She continued, “Then the state threw both charges out. The End.”

Candiace should have come prepared with receipts because the more and more we watch the episodes, the more we see a clear attempt to get Monique isolated from the rest of the women and potentially fired from the show, which is really low, even for Candiace. While many can agree that Monique should not have reacted the way she did, this is simply a much more complicated situation that Candiace would like to have us believe, it seems.

The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays on Bravo.
