Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari, and Stephen Colletti just reunited on a new podcast to talk all about their time on Laguna Beach and the trio did not hold back, according to reports.
Kristin and Stephen have their own rewatch podcast called Back To The Beach and Lauren, also known as LC, joined the duo for the show’s most recent episode to talk all things Laguna Beach.
Biggest regret from Laguna Beach
According to a report from Too Fab, Lauren referred to her treatment of Kristin in the infamous Cabo episode as her biggest regret from her time on Laguna Beach. In the episode, both she and Stephen called Kristin a “slut” for dancing on a bar while the group was on vacation.
“I’m so sorry. I couldn’t believe I did that,” Lauren told Kristin during the podcast. “Because where I’m at now, I would never call another woman that. And it was the most embarrassing moment. I was like, ‘Oh, gross.'”
Kristin, for her part, apologized for using the same insult towards Lauren in an earlier episode. “I said some really dumb stuff and I look back and that’s like my biggest thing,” she said. “When I watch it now, I wasn’t confident at all. I was actually so insecure. I took it out on you in a lot of ways.”
She continued, “Hindsight’s 20/20. If I could go back, I probably would have directed a little bit more towards [Stephen], instead of [Lauren].”
MTV pushed the drama
According to Too Fab’s report, the group swears that their love triangle (which MTV pushed for multiple seasons) did not have Lauren and Kristin upset with each other as much as producers wanted it to seem like.
“My take on it is, you and I never really had any beef,” Stephen said during the episode. “Really. I mean, obviously there was, like, a little truth to what happened with the three of us. But I felt like MTV coming kept it alive and made it way worse than it ever would have been.”
Lauren confirmed that while the two were not all that close, a lot of the drama with Kristin had been reportedly been hashed out before the two began filming Laguna Beach together.
“We got into it and then made up,” Lauren explained. “I mean, we had an issue with each other. But it had been squashed! They ran with it. It made for an interesting show.”
Laguna Beach aired for three seasons on MTV from 2004 to 2006 and featured the personal lives of several students attending Laguna Beach High School. The series spawned two spinoffs, Newport Beach: The Real Orange County and Lauren Conrad’s solo show The Hills.
