Kandi Burruss is sounding off on NeNe Leakes’ exit from RHOA ahead of Season 13, sharing in a new interview that she isn’t disappointed in her former co-star’s absence.

“She’s always going to be a major part of our family,” she told E! News in a new interview to promote The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13, which is premiering this Sunday on Bravo. “It is what it is but this is a show where people come in and out and this year she’s just not here.”

“I mean it’s not her first time not being here. The show is still going to be the show,” continued Kandi, referencing NeNe’s part-time role on Season 8 and complete absence during RHOA Season 9. “The girls are still gonna have drama. It’s still The Real Housewives of Atlanta, nothing changes much. The girls are still gonna be crazy, we’re still gonna have our things that we’re gonna bump heads on, we’re still over the top, nothing has changed.”

Kandi Burruss recently opened up about NeNe Leake’s exit from RHOA and didn’t seem to mind her absence.

She explained, “Like one person doesn’t change that. And that has nothing to do with her personally, that’s just how it works in any friend group. If one person’s not there it’s not like you guys stop talking, it’s not like you guys stop hanging out, it’s not like you guys are ever going to stop having issues or anything. Just one person isn’t there, you know what I’m saying? That’s just the way life is.”

In addition to NeNe’s exit from the series, Kandi also opened up about one of the new cast members, new Housewife Drew Sidora.

Kandi also opened up about Drew Sidora’s addition to RHOA Season 13.

“I liked Drew, I thought she was pretty cool,” she said. “I felt like she fit into the group. Now mind you, of course there’s a couple people that she bumped heads with but as far as I’m concerned, I liked her. I thought she was pretty cool. She spoke up for herself, I felt like she stood her ground. She was a really cool girl, I like her.”

For more from Kandi, including her thoughts on Strippergate and Cynthia Bailey’s wedding, check out the interview over at E! Online.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 13 premieres this Sunday, December 6 at 8/7c on Bravo.
