Janet Roach Confirms ‘The Real Housewives Of Melbourne’ Won’t Resume Filming Again Until January 2021
Janet Roach is confirming that fans of The Real Housewives of Melbourne are in for more disappointment, as Season 5 of the show has been delayed again until January 2021.
“We were supposed to start filming the first week of July – I had all my summer wardrobe ready!” Janet joked with hosts Alana Maclean and Benjamin Norris on Ticker TV’s Jumpstart, according to The Daily Mail.
She continued, “Foxtel have decided that they’re not going to start again until January.”
Season 5 announcement
As previously reported, Arena TV and Foxtel shocked the reality world when they announced The Real Housewives of Melbourne was coming back for a fifth season just a few short months ago.
After an extremely dramatic fourth season and the controversial launch of The Real Housewives of Sydney, however, a fifth season wasn’t commissioned as the network looked for ways to update the franchise.

In particular, it was noted that the Sydney franchise was deemed too negative and they didn’t want to repeat their mistakes on that show on Melbourne.
In addition to Janet, Gina Liano, Gamble Breaux and Lydia Schiavello are also returning, while Jackie Gillies and Sally Bloomfield have exited the series. Arena has already announced that Kyla Kirkpatrick, Cherry Dipietrantonio, and Anjali Ra are all joining as full-time Housewives for Season 5.
At the time, Lydia revealed that she was excited to begin working on the show again but had yet to interact with the new Housewives. “I haven’t had much to do with them,” she said, referring to Kyla, Cherry, and Anjali. “I look forward to seeing them and working with them.”

“I speak to Gina daily,” she added when asked about her relationships with the rest of the RHOMelbourne cast. “I think it’s going to be a very interesting season.”
With news that the show isn’t resuming production until January 2021, we can safely assume that the new season won’t be on the air before this time next year.
