Is ‘Selling Sunset’ Fake?! Marriage License Proves Mary Fitzgerald And Romain Bonnet Actually Wed Before Season 1

The two have a lot of explaining to do when cameras start rolling on Season 4.

Is Selling Sunset fake?! Fans will now be asking that question as it has been revealed that stars Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet actually married before filming the first season of the real estate-reality show.

TMZ has obtained Mary and Romain’s marriage license which clearly shows that it was issued for a period covering March 9, 2018 to June 7, 2018, meaning they most likely got married on the former, which was months before Netflix came knocking.

Season 1 of Selling Sunset started filming in July of 2018, according to the gossip outlet, and Mary and Romain’s storyline on the show was their troubled relationship. At one point, Mary even doubted a future with Romain after he appeared unsure about having children. Their wedding was filmed on October 12, 2019 and aired on Season 2. (Season 3 dropped at the beginning of this month.)

Selling Sunset has become one of Netflix’s biggest shows but fans will be questioning its authenticity with the news that Mary Fitzgerald (far right) and Romain Bonnet (not pictured) actually married before filming Season 1.

The relationship has since become fodder for both fans and their co-stars, who have questioned how genuine it really is and the fact that the two were actually married before all of that drama is not going to do them any favours.

As previously reported, this is all expected to play out on Selling Sunset Season 4.

While Netflix hasn’t confirmed that another season is in the works, a few of the show’s stars seem to have hinted as much with a cryptic Instagram post. Plus, seeing as there is so much drama going on behind-the-scenes and that fans have become obsessed with the show since the third season dropped, the streaming service would be silly not to order more episodes.

Selling Sunset is on Netflix worldwide right now.
