Garcelle Beauvais Supports Denise Richards Amid Rumours She Quit ‘RHOBH’ Over Brandi Glanville Feud: “I’m Team Denise!”
Garcelle Beauvais is coming out in support of her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Denise Richards in her feud against Brandi Glanville.
“It’s always hard when you see a friend who is struggling,” Garcelle responded when asked of the drama surrounding Denise and Brandi in a new interview with PEOPLE. “[The women] wanted to get to the bottom of it and get clarity on the rumor, but it’s hard to watch a friend go through that.”
She added, “I’m on team Denise!”
Brandi, for her part, didn’t appear to talk to the magazine for their piece but a source did reveal more about the supposed tryst.
“Brandi says it happened more than once,” a source revealed to the magazine. “She says it was never serious, but that they had fun.”
As previously reported, Denise will be at the centre of the drama on this season of RHOBH as she battles rumours that she allegedly had a sexual and/or romantic relationship with Brandi and that her husband, Aaron Phypers, didn’t know about it despite having an open marriage with the actress.
RHOBH season 10 premiered just last night on Bravo and the network shocked viewers in the final minutes of the episode by implying that Denise has actually quit the show due to this season’s drama.
A title card was displayed that indicated she had in fact stopped filming with the cast in December 2019, despite sources telling TV Deets exclusively last year that the season finale was filmed in mid-December.
Sources tell PEOPLE, however, that the reality star “absolutely didn’t quit” the show.
“Denise didn’t go to [costar] Teddi [Mellencamp’s] baby shower, because she was sick,” a source told he magazine. “And then she chose not to go to the last party [filmed for the show], because she had already addressed the Brandi drama and she knew it was going to be brought back up again. She had no desire to be a part of that.”

“Denise knows this is a reality show, and what she signed up to do,” continued the show insider. “But she has three daughters and she’s concerned about them — this is about more than the show.”
The source’s comments echo statements that Denise made in a recent interview promoting the new season.
“This is the 10th season and a lot of times it’s someone’s turn to maybe be the target a little bit, and I think this season I was a little bit and that’s OK,” she said, when asked by the LA Times in a feature story about how the Housewives are dealing during the coronavirus.
“It’s part of the show. It’s a reality show,” she continued. “But I think people just watch it and have fun with it. It’s entertainment. We’re all home dealing with all this stuff. There’s a lot of things going on in the world. And if we can bring any light, especially now with what’s going on, then that’s so amazing.”
This storyline is oddly reminiscent of season 9, when the women discussed for episodes on end whether Lisa Vanderpump would return to group filming after they tried to oust her for reportedly leaking stories about Dorit Kemsley.
Only this time, Brandi Glanville is doing their dirty work.
Denise is clearly the new star of RHOBH and if producers wanted a new era, this is certainly it. It’s interesting that Garcelle is coming down on the side of Denise and it will be fun to watch their friendship—or alliance—grow as the new season continues. Let the games begin.
