Former Real Housewives of New York City star Heather Thomson is opening up about Jill Zarin’s return to the hit Bravo show in a new interview.

As we told you exclusively just a few weeks ago, Jill is returning to RHONY this year and while it’s not clear what will make it on air, she has filmed “multiple appearances” for the new season. While Heather was let go from RHONY just a few years ago, she has a great perspective on how the show really works and in a new interview with The Dirty, she confirms that Jill’s return is probably a good thing for the show.

“She was one of the founding housewives and has a real and meaningful history with the franchise,” shares Heather. “I think it’s nice for both Jill and the viewers to be able to catch up again after some time.”

Jill isn’t the only former RHONY star returning this year, though. Heather is also returning for a guest appearance at Carole Radziwill’s election night party and while she doesn’t get into any drama with the other Housewives, she calls it a “dramatic night” nonetheless.

“I make one cameo,” Heather previously told the outlet. “I attend Carole Radziwill’s election party. (It was a) pretty dramatic night for the world, not just RHONY!”

Based on what she’s hearing, Heather thinks viewers will really be into what season 9 has to offer. “I think it won’t be quite as dark a season as last season was,” she explains.

Heather isn’t the only one happy about Jill’s return to the show: Andy Cohen recently opened up about her appearances, calling it “great” to have her back.

While we were never into Heather that much while she was on the show, it’s great to hear that she is supportive of Jill’s return. While we absolutely love RHONY, the show is missing a little bit of that Jill Zarin spark and we’d love to see her and Bethenny Frankel resolve their years-long feud once and for all.

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays on Bravo and Slice.
