Failed Missouri Senate Candidate Courtland Sykes Featured On ‘The Real Housewives Of New York City’ In Scene With Ramona Singer

The random man that Ramona Singer was seen flirting with on last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City may not have been so random at all.

According to a new report, Courtland Sykes is the man that Ramona and Sonja Morgan were flirting with on the Bravo hit and he also happens to have ran for the Missouri Senate. But what’s also interesting is what is being dug up about the wannabe politician.

TVLine.com reports that Courtland is the same person featured on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where the host openly mocked his candidacy.

In the YouTube clip, Stephen Colbert says that Sykes prefers “sexism over feminism”, among other allegations.

On last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, both Ramona and Sonja were seen speaking with Sykes at the bar, aiming to get away from Tinsley Mortimer. Fellow cast member Leah McSweeney and her sister approached, also filming with the former senate candidate.

In addition to being mocked on The Late Show, Sykes was also reported by CNN as having compared feminists to “she devils.”

On Twitter, current Friend of the Housewives Elyse Slaine revealed that the women did not know him prior to filming and that they were disgusted with his behaviour.

Leah, for her part, exposed him on Instagram:

While there’s certainly nothing wrong with Sykes appearing on RHONY, we did find it odd that his name wasn’t credited and instead, viewers were led to believe that he was some random person at the restaurant. While that may be the case, it’s odd to suddenly hear that he has quite the public persona.

The Real Housewives of New York City airs Thursdays on Bravo and Slice.
