Love her or hate her, Angela Stone was a big reason why The Real Housewives of Auckland had such a dramatic first season. Recently, two earthquakes have rocked the nation so we reached out to the RHOAKL star for comment, seeing as her hometown of Christchurch was one of the worst hit in the first quake.
In case you missed it, last New Zealand suffered a terrible earthquake that rocked the upper portions of the South Island, killing two people. Just this morning, another tremor hit the country’s North Island, this time a magnitude 6.1, according to News.com.au.
Angela is now spending most of her time in Christchurch as the cast waits for news on a second season of the hit Bravo New Zealand show and took time out of her day to share an exclusive statement with TV Deets about what she calls a “terrifying” experience.
“I was home in Christchurch last Sunday night when the earthquake struck Kaikoura,” she explains. “It was a terrifying moment which brought back all of the fears from the 2010 earthquake in Christchurch and that feeling of uncertainty about what’s to come. My heart goes out to all of the people in Kaikoura. It is devastating to know how much this beautiful town is suffering.”
Because of the international interest in the show and some viewers’ unfamiliarity with the country, we thought it was important to check in with the cast and we’re glad to hear that everyone is OK. It’s absolutely horrible to see the devastation that is going on but it looks like the nation is coming together more than ever to take care of each other. We wish everyone the best in their grief and rebuilding efforts.
The Real Housewives of Auckland is expected to return sometime in 2017.
