Jill Zarin will make “multiple appearances” on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New York City and Bravo is considering bringing her back full-time for season 10, sources confirm exclusively to TV Deets.
While there’s still a few weeks to go until the show’s April 5th premiere, Jill’s appearance during the trailer has caused some big reactions from viewers. Jill was famously let go from RHONY in an attempt to reboot the show with Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon, and Cindy Barshop also leaving at the same time — and she’s been wanted back ever since.
Bethenny Frankel is rumoured to be pulling the strings when it comes to casting (and that would therefore explain why it’s taken so long to welcome Jill back), but a source close to the show tells TV Deets that nothing could be farther from the truth. “The cast do not have casting approval,” explains our source. “The producers and network make final casting decisions.”
“Jill and Bethenny don’t think about each other everyday,” continues the insider. “Their fight was 5 years ago and it’s old news. Jill will always love Bethenny.”
Calling coverage of their fight “sensationalized,” the source claims that “Bethenny works 24/7 and barely has time to breathe, much less travel the world and sing ‘Kumbaya’ with Jill Zarin.”
Adds the source, “Bethenny is not the kind of person to hold grudges.”
RHONY producers apparently wanted to keep Jill’s return a secret, however, as our sources were adamant that even the cast is unsure of how to react. While it’s unclear how Jill will be received by the rest of the Housewives, what is becoming abundantly obvious is that the network is considering bringing making Jill Zarin a Housewife once again.
