Denise Richards Left ‘RHOBH’ After Bravo Refused To Meet Salary Demands — Report

The actress is leaving the Bravo hit not due to an issue with her co-stars, but a disagreement over salary.

Denise Richards left RHOBH after Bravo refused to meet her salary demands, according to new reports.

Insiders tell Page Six that money was really the key factor in Denise’s decision to walk away from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, adding that she did in fact want to return to the show for another season.

“People think that she didn’t want to come back and that it’s because she got ‘mean-girled’ [by other cast members],” an insider told the gossip outlet. “The truth is she did want to come back. But [Bravo] didn’t want to pay her what she asked for. It was way out of her pay grade.”

They continued, “Bravo called her last week to ask her if she wanted to return, and she took a couple of days to think about it.” However, the report states that by Wednesday, Denise was ready to leave RHOBH and confirmed as such in a statement to Variety.

While Page Six didn’t indicate why Bravo wouldn’t meet Denise’s salary demands, it may have to do with a recent leadership change at NBCUniversal. Due to the pandemic, many companies are being forced to cut costs including talent salaries but companies like NBCUniversal are taking more of a hit due to their investment in theme parks.

Denise Richards is reportedly leaving RHOBH not due to an issue with her co-stars, but because Bravo wouldn’t meet her salary demands.

While it may seem like a stretch for that to trickle all the way down to Denise Richards and RHOBH, the Kardashian family recently decided to walk away from Keeping Up With The Kardashians after they too reportedly couldn’t secure big paycheques from parent company NBCUniversal.

This newest report also seems to confirm what Andy Cohen said about Denise’s decision to leave the show over the weekend, telling PEOPLE that she and the network simply couldn’t come to a deal.

While it is too bad for viewers that Denise is leaving RHOBH, she genuinely seems confident in her decision and after the way the recent reunion episodes played out, we don’t blame her.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays on Bravo.
