D’Andra Simmons Reveals That She Prepares Notes Before Filming ‘RHOD’

She blames it on being a control freak.

D’Andra Simmons reveals in a new interview that she prepares notes before filming scenes for RHOD.

The Real Housewives of Dallas star made the revelation in a new interview with Page Six, explaining that she does so in order to not miss getting any of her points across with the other women.

“I kind of look at everything that’s happening week by week and I will make my own notes about what points I want to get across,” she says. “It’s really important if you’re not prepared when you’re going into doing a scene and you forget something and … you can’t go back.”

D’Andra Simmons (third from left) reveals in a new interview that she likes to prep before filming RHOD.

While D’Andra believes that her preparation is good for the show, she isn’t exactly sure producers on The Real Housewives of Dallas agree with her. “It’s a catch-22. They like the fact I’m prepared,” she explains. “On the other hand, then do you take out the spontaneity of what’s going to happen? I always have to remember that just because I want this to happen, I want to get this point across, it may not be where it’s going to go. The scene may not go that way.”

Further explaining that her need to prepare comes from wanting to control things, D’Andra says that she is working on being more carefree. “I like to know what the end result is going to be and you can’t do that with life,” she dishes. “And I don’t like that about life, but I have to let go and let things happen.”

While D’Andra’s comments are certainly honest and revealing, we’re not sure Real Housewives fans will appreciate that she prepares so much prior to filming RHOD.

On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, for example, Lisa Vanderpump was taken to task by the other women over the years for reportedly wanting to self-produce scenes, and Real Housewives of New York’s Bethenny Frankel and more recently, Real Housewives of Orange County’s Braunwyn Windham-Burke have also been accused of preparing too much for Bravo cameras. In addition, it didn’t exactly go over well with fans or the other Housewives when Nene Leakes was caught with notes while filming The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion.

RHOD airs Tuesdays on Bravo.
