Crave Renews ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ For Season 2

The series will enter production on 10 new episodes in the coming months and casting for Season 2 is now open.

Crave has renewed Canada’s Drag Race for Season 2, the streaming service announced earlier today (January 7).

The series will go into production on 10 new episode in the coming months and casting for Season 2 is now open, Bell Media shared in a release.

“Crave prides itself on creating original programming that connects with audiences, and with an immensely talented and diverse cast that represented the backgrounds and personal stories of so many viewers, the inaugural season of Canada’s Drag Race did just that,” said Karine Moses, who is a senior VP with Bell Media. “We’re so excited to see even more of the amazing talent that Canada’s drag artists have to offer and continue to create more magic for Season 2!”

Trevor Boris, formerly of Big Brother Canada and Big Brother UK, has been upped to show runner for Canada’s Drag Race Season 2, the release also confirmed.

Crave has renewed Drag Race Canada for Season 2.

The series, which is one of many international editions of the original Drag Race, arrived on Crave to much fanfare over the summer and quickly caused controversy among the fanbase with what many called inaccurate and overly-rude judging, leading to a successful season both on the streaming service and social media.

In association with Crave, Canada’s Drag Race is produced by Blue Ant Studios. Executive Producers for World of Wonder are Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, and Tom Campbell. While RuPaul is not a judge on the Canadian series, he does serve as an Executive Producer.

According to Crave, the series is the best-performing Canadian and Crave Original Series in the platform’s history, so it’s no surprise to hear that it’s been renewed for another round and if you ask us, the more Drag Race the better.
