Cosmopolitan Cancels ‘Bachelor’ Magazine Cover After Discovering ‘White Lives Matter’ Connection
Fans of ABC’s The Bachelor series have been looking forward to seeing contestant Victoria Fuller grace the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine but in a shocking turn of events, the cover has been cancelled over a “White Lives Matter” connection.
On this season of the ABC show, contestants have been competing in a mini-challenge to score the Cosmo cover and Fuller had won out before her previous connection to a “White Lives Matter” photoshoot was revealed, reports PEOPLE.
According to the report, Fuller had previously participated in a photoshoot for a “Marlin Lives Matter” ad campaign that featured the inappropriate slogan. After the magazine discovered this, they decided to cancel the cover entirely.
“Unequivocally, the White Lives Matter movement does not reflect the values of the Cosmo brand,” Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Jessica Pels shared on the magazine’s website.
“We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, and any cause that fights to end injustices for people of color,” she said in a statement.
This marks the second scandal to hit the Bachelor franchise after it was revealed this season that producers may have set up a confrontation between an ex-girlfriend and a musician at a group date.
According to the report, ABC hasn’t responded to PEOPLE’s multiple requests for comments.
