Carole Radziwill Talks ‘RHONY’: On Her Feud With Bethenny Frankel And Unique Friendship With Ramona Singer

Carole Radiziwill appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City for six seasons and in a new interview, she dished about her time on the show, her life post-show, and opened up about her feud with Bethenny Frankel and her unique friendship with Ramona Singer.

On an appearance on the Juicy Scoop podcast with comedienne Heather McDonald, the former RHONY star seemed at ease, relaxed and comfortable with no longer having Bravo cameras document her every move.

On the tone of the show and constant drama

“For the 6 seasons, I thought I was in a comedy, and everyone else thought they were in a drama,” she told Heather, jokingly, adding that a lot of her commentary went over both the heads of the Housewives and the producers.

On her unique friendship with Ramona Singer

“We had lunch [the other day]. She’s great. She’s funny, she’s quirky, she doesn’t have a serious mental illness — like some of the other Housewives,” joked Carole, adding that the two have maintained a friendship since she left the show.

“It’s real, it’s authentic, the quirkiness of the way her mind works,” she said of Ramona’s personality. “I always got along with her and I still do. She’s actually, a good girlfriend. She’ll call you, she’ll check-in. I’m not that way, I’ll hear from her but she always wants to get together, she’s always checking in.”

“She is 62 and she looks amazing,” she continued. “I’m not even saying she looks good for her age. We were talking about this, there’s young and there’s youth. Youth is a noun, youth is a thing, and she’s got it. She just has a youthfulness that permeates everything she does.”

On a confusing final season with Bethenny Frankel

During Carole’s last season on the show, it became evident early on that there was some sort of rift between her and her once good friend Bethenny. But as the episodes aired and the drama played out, Carole became increasingly confused with her former friend’s motivations.

When you watch it back, ‘oh, what? She’s crying that we’re not friends?’ Which wasn’t even true,” she told Heather about the cast trip to Colombia.

“That was not the truth of what was going on,” she continued. “I always felt that the audience was so confused. ‘Why is Bethenny so upset? Why isn’t Carole more upset?’ It just didn’t ring true.”

Looking back, Carole added that she feels she can now see the signs of “building a storyline.”

RHONY return

While Carole and Heather didn’t touch on this specifically, it is clear that Carole is still connected to the RHONY cast. In addition to maintaining a friendship with Ramona, Carole revealed that she is still in contact with Sonja Morgan, too.

As for Tinsley Mortimer? She made it quite clear that the two haven’t spoken since her final reunion taping.

The show will be going in a different direction this season now that Bethenny has left and to be honest, it would be nice to see Carole in that environment without the Skinnygirl founder.

The Real Housewives of New York City premieres April 2 on Bravo.
