Bravo Teases Mystery Season 2 Announcement — Here’s Why We Think It’s ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’
Bravo took to social media recently to tease a mystery season 2 announcement and the post has fans in a tizzy about what might show returning.
“A season 2 will be announced next month,” the network teased on its official Twitter page.
There are only a small number of shows that have premiered in the last year, so we thought we’d take a look at each of them and evaluate their chances at renewal. But, hint, hint: We think the mystery show that is going to be renewed for season 2 is Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
Camp Getaway premiered just this month on the network and was paired with season 1 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, which is a certified hit (more on that later.) The show follows the staff at a summer camp in the Berkshires.
Unfortunately, the show airs at 10pm and ratings have been dismal, so it appears highly unlikely that this show will be renewed.
Backyard Envy aired last summer and featured three co-workers and best friends as they manage their landscaping business, Manscapers, in Brooklyn, New York.
Despite rave reviews, the show also suffered in the ratings, meaning it would also be unlikely for this one to get another show.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht
The latest entry in the Below Deck franchise premiered in January to over 1 million viewers, maintaining a healthy audience from the former’s season finale.
The show was the first in the franchise to feature, you guessed it, a sailing yacht and has created quite the conversation on social media. The Chief Stew fell in love with the Chef and the crew could barely manage to get along, making for a dramatic and highly-rated first season.
That show premieres on June 1 which is technically “next month”. It would be smart for Bravo to announce a season 2 renewal for Sailing Yacht on the day of its reunion and the new season premiere, which is why this is our top choice if we were to make an educated guess.
After TV Deets exclusively revealed the cast and title for Family Karma, the show premiered in January 2020 to decent ratings.
It is the first reality show to feature an all Indian-American cast and is based out of sunny Miami, Florida.
The show seemed to create quite the fanbase on social media, but ratings seemed to slip as the season progressed and it was not given the reunion treatment, a la Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
For these reasons, we think Family Karma is on the fence for a season 2 renewal. We wouldn’t count this cast out just yet!
Flipping Exes aired last year on the network and featured a former couple who are now business partners in a house flipping company.
Like Backyard Envy, this show was supposed to launch a series of home-related shows for the network, but also suffered from low ratings and a 10pm time slot.
Mexican Dynasties created quite the stir when it was announced by the network.
It featured a dynamic cast of three Mexican families and was actually filmed in Mexico City. One of the cast members is even a relative of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards but unfortunately, even a family tie wasn’t enough to give this show a second chance.
In addition, filming in Mexico City can’t be cheap and seeing as these are notable members of the social scene, we don’t think they’d sign on for a second season if the production value wasn’t there.
TV Deets has already exclusively reported that Mexican Dynasties has been cancelled and will not be returning.
Texicanas also created quite the conversation when it aired last May on the network. Featuring a supposedly tight-knit group of friends in San Antonio, Texas, this show was originally thought to be a Housewives instalment before it premiered.
Unfortunately, despite an interesting narration style and Housewives-level drama, the show never gained its footing and suffered in the ratings as a result, too. TV Deets has previously reported that Texicanas is also cancelled and will not be returning.
In short, Below Deck Sailing Yacht seems to be the one show that has all of the makings for a season 2 but we wouldn’t put it past our favourite network to switch things up and surprise us.
