Bravo is in hot water over tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City. According to various reports, the network has been sued by a friend of Luann de Lesseps who spoke to Carole Radziwill while filming scenes for tonight’s RHONY and now, that woman wants to stop tonight’s episode from airing
As TMZ reports, the woman has now taken Bravo — and Carole — to court over the episode and is fighting to get her name and likeness taken off of the show and is hoping the judge rules in her favour so that this mess doesn’t make its way on air.
“Barbara K, founder of a DIY company, claims she had what she believed to be a private discussion with Carole at a charity party in Manhattan,” reports the gossip outlet. “She says ‘Real Housewives’ was filming … but their convo took place far away from cameras and she didn’t know Radziwill was mic’d.”
The report goes on to say that Barbara and Carole had another separate conversation (reportedly about Luann’s relationship with Tom D’Agostino) that was filmed for RHONY and once Barbara found out, she went to court.
As TV Deets has previously reported, rumours broke during filming for this season that Carole was messing with Luann’s relationship — still — and we’re now thinking that this lawsuit has something to do with that situation.
Unfortunately for Barbara, Bravo tells TMZ that the judge in the case has ruled in their favour and that her conversations will appear on tonight’s show after all. When an event is being filmed for a Bravo reality show (or any reality show, really) notices of filming are posted so that all attendees know that they may appear on television via audio or visuals and that may be how the network is walking away from this lawsuit penalty-free.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs TONIGHT at 9pm ET on Bravo and Slice.
