Bethenny Frankel Feuding With ‘Real Housewives Of New York City’ Producers After Leaving The Show — Report
Bethenny Frankel is feuding with her former producers on The Real Housewives of New York City after departing the hit Bravo show, sources tell Page Six in a new report.
“She’s jealous [because] she’s not on still,” a production source told the outlet about Bethenny’s departure from the show and her subsequent comments. “She made a rash decision [to leave] and she misses the limelight of it all.”
Added the source in one final dig, “And she can’t believe it will be as successful without her and may be better.”
As previously reported, Bethenny left RHONY producers high and dry when she decided to quit the show on the eve of filming the new season.
In the recent season premiere, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and Dorinda Medley were all shown reacting to Bethenny’s leaving the show and the scenes seemed to imply that the cast didn’t really care that she was leaving the franchise.
According to the report from Page Six, the drama between Bethenny and the show goes all the way back to November 2019, when she heard that producers had made some unsavoury comments about her at BravoCon.
“Bethenny of course is Bethenny. We did three seasons without her in the middle, it was successful, a lot of fun, some of the best trips,” longtime producer Barrie Bernstein said at the time. “And the ladies, they’ve done this for a while, and they don’t need Bethenny. I think this season we’re really excited to shine that.”
Bethenny, as a result, reportedly blocked the producer in her phone.
Bethenny shouldn’t be worrying about her former co-stars on The Real Housewives of New York City, however.
According to various reports, the Skinnygirl mogul has scored a new HBO Max business competition show, harkening back to her roots on Martha Stewart’s Apprentice.
“Aside from motherhood, what truly defines me as a person is being a driven, passionate and hard-working woman determined to make the impossible possible,” the former RHONY star said in a statement about the new show.
“My mantra is to come from a place of ‘yes’ and to find and create the solution. I am an executor of visions, and I share and impart that information to those who work with me. MGM has been neck-in-neck with me with ideas and their execution. I couldn’t be more thrilled to continue my longstanding relationship with Mark Burnett on this series and pay this American Dream story forward.”
All of these rumours about Bethenny being upset with RHONY are only fuelling the show and considering producers used her in last week’s episode multiple times, we wouldn’t be surprised to find out someone from production is actually floating this story.
That said, after watching the first few episodes of the new season, it’s clear that this is a new era for RHONY. The women seem to be getting to know new Housewife Leah McSweeney and are hilarious as ever, so at this point, producers might be right to be throwing the former queen bee under the bus.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Thursdays on Bravo and Slice.
