‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: Jenna MacGillivray Makes Public Apology To Her Co-Stars Following Latest Episode
Chief Stew Jenna MacGillivray has taken to Instagram following the latest episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht to apologize for her behaviour towards her co-stars on the show’s debut season.
“It’s rare that I don’t get along with people. So doing this season was stressful to have conflict. I’m going to keep this short and simple. And I’d appreciate it if people took my words as truth, and not just an attempt to get favour,” she captioned her latest post.
“I apologize for some of my behaviour. It was not my intent to belittle or hurt people in any way, but I understand that’s what happened to some people, as a result of my actions,” she said. “No one is perfect. And when people say ‘I hope you’re watching and self reflecting’, I am. Some of the show is hard to watch. It’s different for me because I know my intentions but I certainly understand on all boats there are varying personalities and I am not easy for everyone.”
“I came in guns blazing,” she continued. “I wanted to give the best experience to the guests, and I understand that at times that meant I wasn’t focused on the girls. I should’ve spent more time. And that is a regret of mine. I was focused on Adam. And just managing everything to the best of my ability and sometimes I failed.
She explained, “I wanted to have fun with everyone. And I understand sometimes my words came across in a harsh way. And for that I am sorry. To Georgia, Madison, and Parker. I will never say any of you weren’t working your asses off. There were dynamics that were at times difficult. So again. I am sorry. I would never want someone to feel like shit because of me. And that’s the truth.”
Dating The Chef
This season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht has been a rocky one for Jenna. After bonding quickly with Chef Adam Glick, the two formed a romantic connection before he abruptly shut things down, only to rekindle things a few episodes later.

Jenna has been depicted to be spending a lot of time in the galley with Adam, and some fans have accused her of caring more about her relationship with the returning cast member than about her job as Chief Stew.
Adam himself has faced his fair share of criticism, as he has been seen exploding not only on his fellow crew members, but on some of the guests, too. Viewers who saw a more cheery disposition on his previous season of Below Deck remained shocked by his attitude this season.
Social Media Comments
The comments on social media about the show have gotten a bit out of hand, it should be mentioned. A quick look at the hashtag #BelowDeckSailing and you’ll see numerous comments using derogatory names towards the cast.
It seems to be becoming a bit of a pattern with the Below Deck franchise, with the recent season of the original also coming under heat for some of the casts’ behaviour.
Ashton Pienaar faced criticism all season from Chief Stew Kate Chastain and it echoed the viewer sentiment, leading Ashton to take a break from social media.
Love her or hate her, Jenna deserves a second chance and it must have taken a lot for her to post such an open and honest apology.
While some may say it’s just because of the backlash she has received from the show, we’re going to remain positive and hope that this crew can patch up any issues that formed during production.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays on Bravo and Slice.
