‘Below Deck’s Ashton Pienaar Denies That He Is Misogynistic: ‘I Love Women’
Ashton Pienaar may be receiving backlash for his treatment of his female crew members on the current season of Below Deck but despite the negative attention, he doubled down in a recent interview by denying that he is misogynistic.
In a new episode of the Below Deck After Show, the cast is asked about the recent drama between Ashton and well, everyone. As viewers have seen, Ashton has crossed the line with a few of his co-workers, including Kate Chastain and Rhylee Gerber.
Rhylee has since accused Ashton of having an issue with her simply because of her gender and a quick search of social media will tell you that a decent portion of the fanbase feels the same way.
Not the case, claims Ashton. In the clip released to Bravo’s official YouTube page, he tells the camera that he is “tired” of the word being thrown around.
He isn’t the only Below Deck star caught making cringeworthy comments in the interview, however. Almost all of the men, including Kevin Dobson and Tanner Sterback, seem unaware of how their behaviour and comments have affected their co-stars, and how they are being perceived by fans, too.
Kevin has had quite the dramatic season himself, getting into it with quite a few of his female co-workers, too. In the interview, he mentions that things will “never be balanced” between men and women and the two then compare the issue to racism. No, seriously.
Below Deck airs Mondays on Bravo.
