Andy Cohen is sharing his first comments on Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s somewhat shocking firing from Vanderpump Rules.

“I gotta talk about Jax and Brittany. I just have to say, I have to give it up to them,” he said on a Monday, December 7 episode of his SiriusXM radio show, according to a write up from OK! Magazine. “Have you seen a run on a — specifically Jax — like, Jax created so much story, drama, conversation in his eight years on that show. That’s quite a run that he had.”

He continued, “He will go down as one of the biggest, you know, reality stars in their moment, don’t you think? That was an incredible run that they had.”

In addition to praising Jax’s impact in the reality TV world—notice that he completely left out Brittany—the Bravo host also seemed to appreciate Jax’s professionalism, which longtime fans of the series will find pretty funny.

Andy Cohen opened up about Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright leaving Vanderpump Rules on a recent episode of his radio show.

“He always took it like a man,” he said, referencing Jax’s many appearances on WWHL over the years. “He was a good sport. He would come on Watch What Happens Live and he would be, like, ‘How mean are you going to be to me today?’ And I would be like, ‘It’s bad.’ There was always stuff that we were confronting him about and he took it.”

Andy also seemed to shut down rumours that Vanderpump Rules is on the brink of cancellation, clarifying that the show will be back for Season 9.

“When that show’s going to start shooting again, I have no idea, but I’m excited. I’m excited for there to be a shift,” he explained.

Andy’s denial that the show is cancelled seems to align with what we think here at TV Deets, considering it would be very odd for two stars of the show to have announced their exits if the series itself was not coming back in some capacity.

As previously reported, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright announced their exits from Vanderpump Rules quietly last Friday (December 4).

In copy-and-paste statements on their official Instagram accounts, the reality stars confirmed that they will not be returning for Season 9 of the longtime hit.

“The last 5 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” shared Brittany.

“Although this is difficult to share, Jax and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules. We are excited to take this time to focus on our growing family and share with you our new endeavors [sic]. @bravotv, @evolutionusa and our Vanderpump castmates will always remain close to our hearts. Thank you to all the fans who have shared our journey with us and supported us through everything. We love you.”

The timing of their statements, how they’ve been worded, and the fact that they excluded LVP lead us to believe that Bravo actually fired both Jax and Brittany as opposed to them exiting the series on their own. Allowing them to exit the series gracefully is something that the network has done repeatedly for their talent over the years.
