Aimée Osbourne Reveals Why She Never Joined MTV’s ‘The Osbournes’

"It definitely worked great for the rest of my family, but for me and who I am, I just knew it was never something that I was going to be able to consider realistically."

Who else remembers the MTV hit reality show The Osbournes?

Well, if you were a reality TV addict in the early 2000s, the docuseries, which featured Ozzy Osbourne, his wife Sharon, and their two children Jack and Kelly, was appointment vieweing.

Now, years after the show ended, the Osbourne’s other child, Aimée Osbourne, is speaking out about her decision not to film the reality show with the rest of her family.

“For me, I had grown up around having a pretty well-known dad anyway and I always really valued my privacy within that family,” the oldest sibling explained in an interview with Q1043’s Out of the Box, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.

“For me personally and for who I am as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager,” she explained. “It didn’t really line up with what I saw my future as.”

She continued, “It definitely worked great for the rest of my family, but for me and who I am I just knew it was never something that I was going to be able to consider realistically.”

“Weirdly, I think I was more mature then than I am now,” she later joked. “I have a bit of a Benjamin Button in reverse or something. I get more ridiculous as I get older.”

The Osbournes aired on MTV from 2002 – 2005 and is credited with increasing the popularity of the celebrity-reality format. The network has reportedly attempted a reboot over the years, but nothing has come to fruition.
