Monique Samuels Is Working On A New Song With Former ‘RHOP’ Co-Star Ashley Darby

A sequel to 'Drag Queens' is coming.

Monique Samuels may have moved on from The Real Housewives of Potomac but that doesn’t mean she is no longer friends with at least some of the women. In a new interview, she reveals that she is working on a new song with her former RHOP co-star Ashley Darby.

Speaking to Derek Zagami on RealiTea With Derek Z, Monique first explained the bond she has with both Ashley and her other RHOP ally, Karen Huger.

“We still talk to this day,” she dished, explaining that they have maintained their friendship since production on Season 5 wrapped and Monique subsequently revealed she was leaving the series. “We actually talked last night. I love Karen, I love Ashley. They’re ride or die for me, and I’m ride or die for them. I’m so grateful for the friendship and the sisterhood.”

Discussing her budding music career, Monique revealed that although she wanted her co-stars in the video for her single Drag Queens, due to the COVID-19 pandemic she was unable to include them.

A little pandemic won’t be stopping another future RHOP collaboration, however, and Monique dropped news that she wants to record a song with Ashley.

“I already put it out in the atmosphere,” she explained. “I’m going to get some really good beats, we’re going to come up with a nice little concept and we are going to do something together.”

As previously reported, Monique quit The Real Housewives of Potomac after a dramatic season that culminated with her providing some of the most iconic reunion moments of recent years, bringing a binder to the reunion and expertly reading co-stars Candiace Dillard, Robyn Dixon, and Gizelle Bryant.

RHOP will return for Season 6 later this year.
